Helen Glenn Obituary

Helen  B. Glenn, age 85, of Palmyra, passed away on January 29, 2024. Born on November 9, 1938, in Logan, WV, to Graden and Polly (Ooten) Blankenship, Helen led a life filled with love, compassion, and service to others.

Her journey was marked by diverse roles, beginning as an office administrator for the F.B.I., later becoming a dedicated special education teacher's aide, and eventually contributing her warmth as an associate at Wal-Mart until her well-earned retirement. Her professional journey was not just a career but a testament to her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those she encountered.

In the tapestry of her life, Helen found love and companionship in Robert T. Glenn of Vincennes, Indiana. Together, they built a life in Palmyra, IN, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the love that only grows deeper with time.

Helen's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and her joy radiated when she attended church, finding solace and connection in her spiritual community. However, her greatest joys were found in the embrace of family, particularly in the precious moments spent with her children and grandchildren. Helen's generous spirit extended beyond her immediate circle, as she dedicated herself to helping others through donations and providing for those in need.

Helen will forever be cherished as a loving and generous soul, her memory alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her time at Wal-Mart was not just a job but a reflection of her innate ability to connect with people; she never met a stranger and left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

Helen is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and two brothers, Charles Blankenship and Jimmy Blankenship. Yet, she leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure through the lives she touched.

She is survived by her four sons, Bryan Glenn, Troy (Susan) Glenn, Joseph Glenn, Gary (Tina) Glenn; her sister, Delores Large; and her cherished grandchildren: Ricole Woods, Jason Glenn, Jordan Cook, Rachel Kirkham, Eli Glenn, Winston Glenn, Heather Glenn, Taylor Glenn, Caitlin McClure, Zachary Parker; along with eighteen great-grandchildren.
