Glenn Stackhouse, age 85, of New Salisbury, IN, passed away on February 4, 2024. He was born on May 1, 1938, to Hershell and Effie Stackhouse in Louisville, Kentucky. Glenn dedicated 39 years of his life as an Educator for the North Harrison School Corporation until his well-earned retirement. On August 30, 1959, he joined hands in marriage with the love of his life, Carol (Sappenfield) Stackhouse, and together they made their home in New Salisbury, IN.
Glenn's life was one filled with joy and diverse interests. He found solace and happiness in fishing, boating, playing golf, and delving into the world of literature. Above all, his greatest source of fulfillment came from the time he spent with his cherished family and friends.
Glenn is preceded in death by his loving parents, his dear wife Carol Stackhouse, his children Lynn Stackhouse and Cathy Reed, and great-granddaughter, Tinsley Grace Bailey. Despite the profound loss, Glenn leaves behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Alice Stackhouse, one son-in-law Kevin Reed, his granddaughter Kristen (Alex) Bailey, and three grandsons: Matthew (Deanna) Rose, Gabriel (Taylor) Rose, and Krieg Reed. Glenn also leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Preston and Warren Bailey, Catherine and Emily Rose, Icelee, and Leona Hembree.
Visitation to celebrate Glenn's life will be held at Love Funeral Home, Palmyra, IN, on Wednesday, February 07, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm and again on Thursday, February 08, 2024, from 9 am to 11 am.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 08, 2024, at 11 am at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN.
Following the service, Glenn will be laid to rest in the peaceful Palmyra Cemetery, where he will find eternal rest surrounded by the beauty of nature that he so deeply appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Glenn's honor to the Salem Community Church for the Cathy Reed Scholarship Fund, 190 W. Becks Mill Road, Unit I, Salem, IN 47167 .
